The school year is off to a great start! Parents please make sure both you and your student have Infinite Campus (IC) access to keep track of student grades and attendance. If you need help setting up an IC account please contact the post secondary center (counseling office) at 259-1630 x 2309
DHS has a new grading system which is as follows: PPBE (Positive and Professional Behavior Expectations) 5%, Finals 20%,Formative Assessments 10% and 65% of your students grade will be based on summative assessments (Tests/quizzes).Summative assessments are anything that allows students to show proficiency or mastery of content. For some of you this may seem daunting but please remember the new policy also allows your student to re- take any summative assessment multiple times within 2 weeks of the first assessment to improve their score. As always learning the material is our ultimate goal here at DHS!
Many of you may have received DHS updates for your older students regarding signing up to take a PSAt (practice SAT) test this October. This test is for juniors only. All freshmen will take a grade 9 PSAT tests in April of 2020. No sign up needed.
DHS COLLEGE FAIRS:
September 17th: 5:30 - 7:00 in the cafeteria. Students are encouraged to attend to learn more about colleges prior to the enrollment process in their senior year. Free to all
